I hope you can also read the loss and insecurity that reflects on the face of the child because of the loss of his father, due to war. Does the picture still promote war?
This picture is not promoting war, but glorifying Americans using Psalm 37:37. "Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace". I am not ready to accept an American soldier as a perfect man or the upright. I am not sure about their/ his end as peace.
At the sametime, I admit that this picture clearly reflects our theme "Departure" and cause to have a spontanious overflow of verity of thoughts mostly centred on our theme "Departure".
Generally soldiers are supposed to serve and protect and give their life for the human welfare. Therefore, I think they can be considered as perfect men.
.. and the picture makes the feeling that it is American just because of the stars in the flag. It can also be an Australian flag.
Its totally a bad concept: Promoting war and arousing sympathy using kids..
ReplyDeleteIts very american!!
